How we check our content
In naturalisation every detail matters. That is why all content on this site follows a fixed review process, from the source to an automatic check of every answer.
Our sources
For requirements, procedures and fees we rely on primary sources:
- the Swiss Citizenship Act (SCA) and the Swiss Citizenship Ordinance (SCO) as published on fedlex.admin.ch,
- information from the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM),
- the Federal Council report of 5 November 2025 on the naturalisation of the second generation of immigrants, which lists the residence requirements of all cantons,
- the websites, information sheets, regulations and study material of the 26 cantons and, where necessary, of individual municipalities.
Every canton page names its sources and the date of the last review.
How our practice questions are made
We write every question ourselves. They are based on the official study material of the Confederation and the cantons, constitutions, laws and authorities’ websites. Every question is linked to a source and comes with an explanation that shows the context. We choose plausible wrong answers so that you understand rather than guess.
Figures that change, such as population numbers, seat distributions or numbers of municipalities, are marked with a date. We do not copy the cantons’ official question catalogues; we link to them on the relevant canton page.
Automatic checks
In addition to the content review, our question catalogue goes through automatic checks. A checking program compares the marked correct answer of each question with its explanation and flags questions where another answer fits the explanation better. We check every flagged question by hand. Further checks ensure that every question has four answer options, exactly one correct answer and an explanation.
Keeping it current
All content was checked in October 2026. When laws, fees or procedures change, we update the pages concerned and the date.
Found a mistake?
Despite all our care, mistakes can happen, and sometimes a municipality changes its practice. If you notice something, write to us at blissomdev@gmail.com. We check every report and correct errors as quickly as possible.
