Why this site exists
Anyone who wants to become Swiss soon notices that there is no single citizenship test. Zurich tests with 50 questions on a computer, Basel-Stadt in an interview, Ticino after a compulsory course. Residence rules, fees and language requirements differ from canton to canton. The information is spread across many websites of the Confederation, cantons and municipalities.
einbürgerungstest.ch brings it together in one place: explained clearly for every canton, with practice questions and a mock test that reproduces the format of the real test where it is officially set.
Who is behind it
The website is operated by Blissom LLC, which also develops the app «Einbürgerung Schweiz». The website is free and can be used without signing up. It shows a selection from our question catalogue; the app contains all questions with a study plan and translations.
We are not an authority and work independently of the Confederation, the cantons and the municipalities. The information provided by the responsible offices is always binding.
How we work
- Sources first: Every statement on requirements, deadlines and fees is based on laws, ordinances and information from the authorities. We name the sources on every page.
- Our own questions: We write our practice questions ourselves. We do not copy official question catalogues; we link to them.
- Checked regularly: All content was checked in October 2026. We update it when laws, fees or procedures change.
- Correcting mistakes: We look into reports of errors immediately. Write to us at blissomdev@gmail.com.
